The Toro-Semliki National Park lies in western Uganda in the districts of Ntoroko and Kabarole, in the trough of the Albertine Rift between the Rwenzori Mountains and Lake Albert. Since September 2025 it has been a national park; previously the area had been designated since 1926 as the Toro-Semliki Wildlife Reserve to protect the Uganda kob.
Across roughly 542 km², savannahs, open woodland and river systems alternate – a landscape that differs markedly from the parks in the south. Its inhabitants include Uganda kob, elephants, buffalo, duikers and leopards as well as primates. The birdlife is also diverse – from bee-eaters to waterbirds.
Game drives, birdwatching and nature walks are possible; the tracks are in places demanding, and a guided tour is advisable. From Kampala it is roughly 320 kilometres.
