Gorilla Friend on Facebook
A great idea from the Uganda Wildlife Authority in Uganda: to protect the gorillas, you can become friends with a gorilla via Facebook on the website "friendagorilla.com". Become a gorilla’s Facebook friend! It starts at just one dollar. A great opportunity for anyone who wants to contribute to gorilla conservation in Uganda "conveniently". The proceeds go entirely to the protection of the animals.
Mondberge – A Project for the Protection of Mountain Gorillas
"Mondberge.com" is a community platform about mountain gorillas in Uganda. Topics include species conservation, the Rwenzori Mountains, safari and trekking, as well as travel and nature photography. On the website you will find current news, blog posts, interesting articles and beautiful photo galleries from Uganda. The Mondberge in the Rwenzori Mountains, with their giant plants and mist-shrouded forests, are among the most otherworldly regions in the world.
Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International
A great website by Dian Fossey, who has campaigned vigorously for years for the protection of the remaining mountain gorillas in Uganda. You will find many pictures, videos, background information and opportunities to donate.
Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary
The chimpanzee sanctuary on Ngamba Island was founded ten years ago, in October 1998, to give injured or orphaned chimpanzees a new home. Further aims are the protection of the environment on the island, bringing the animals’ lives closer to visitors, and allowing local communities to share in gentle tourism.
Mountain Gorillas
The website operated by Colibri Umwelt Reisen GmbH & Co. KG provides all kinds of information about the rare mountain gorillas in Uganda and Rwanda. Makes you want more!
Berggorilla & Regenwald Direkthilfe e. V.
The association "Berggorilla & Regenwald Direkthilfe e.V." has set itself the goal of preserving the rainforest and the mountain gorillas living in it. There are articles on gorilla conservation, information on the national parks and protected areas for eastern gorillas, and of course information on the gorillas and their habitat.
