The Kyambura National Park lies in the south-west of Uganda in Rubirizi District, north-east of Queen Elizabeth National Park, with which it forms a shared wildlife zone. Until September 2025 it was designated as Kyambura Game Reserve.
Its centrepiece is the Kyambura Gorge (“Valley of the Apes”), which cuts around 100 metres deep into the savannah. A chimpanzee group habituated to humans lives on the damp floor of the gorge – one of the few areas in Uganda where chimpanzee trekking is possible. The park, at around 156 km², is also home to leopards, hippos, elephants and numerous bird species.
In addition to chimpanzee trekking, nature walks and birdwatching are offered. It is around 380 kilometres from Kampala.
