Friendly and open – this is how Ugandans will greet you in the vast majority of cases. Whether in the city, when you ask the right way, or on a country road buying a refreshment at one of the countless fruit stalls.

When it comes to business, you must of course expect seasoned haggling by the traders over your offers. But this is not impolite, it is completely normal. After all, in Uganda too a living has to be earned first. So do not misinterpret this, but join in the bargaining!
